On the morning of March 28, 2025, a devastating fire engulfed the premises of Alice Industrial & Hydraulic Services at 28 George Crescent, Alice Springs. The blaze caused millions of dollars in damage and left the building condemned. Owner Andrew Mowles described the aftermath as looking “like a nuclear bomb’s gone off,” with nothing salvageable—including his treasured collection of Hawthorn Hawks memorabilia.
Despite the immense loss, the family-owned business showed remarkable resilience. Determined to continue serving the local community and supporting their team of 18 employees, the business swiftly relocated operations. As of April 28, 2025, Alice Industrial is now temporarily operating from 63 Smith Street, Alice Springs, which accommodates deliveries, stock, and now includes a fully functional sales showroom for customers.
Trading from a New Temporary Location
To ensure continuity of service, the team wasted no time in re-establishing operations. While the fire disrupted day-to-day business, customers can still expect the same trusted service, product knowledge, and industry expertise that Alice Industrial has long been known for. From hydraulic components to industrial tools, it’s business as usual—even in the face of adversity.
